“Mayhem” will be the first multi agency education program ever to be developed and initiated within
The aim of the scheme will be to reduce vandalism and related crime due to drink and or drug misuse by the targeted age group within the H police district.
Specifically designed for key stage 3 / 4 (14-16 years) this daylong program will revolve around a series of presentations, workshops and activities within the school environment, there will be particular emphasis on vandalism as a result of underage drinking, drug addiction and perceived boredom.
These presentations will be delivered on predetermined dates over a two-year period across the district.
Contained within the “Mayhem” day will be ample opportunity for pupils to explore the effects of this type of behaviour on, not only themselves, but their school, community, family, friends and the environment.
The police will take the lead role in organising this event in conjunction with and in consultation with other external agencies that, in turn, will present their own particular aspect on addiction and or vandalism. These presentations will be conducted in an agreed and uniform presentation format.
